CAST: Bill Drummond
A thought experiment under the auspice of Bill Drummond – once a rebellious member of the bands THE KLF and Big In Japan who became famous for setting a million pounds on fire, live on stage. These days Bill works on social projects all over the world, with which he’s trying to prove that music is something unique when it remains ephemeral and unrepeatable. In The17, with his characteristic glibness and stubbornness, he constructs a “one-time piece” written for a choir of complete strangers he met while traveling through Great Britain. Through the actions recorded in the document, the artist tries to prove that in today’s world we’re always listening to something – but we rarely focus enough to hear something or someone for real.
