Karen is a young teacher (possessing the beauty of Pre-Raphaelite muses), who teaches teenagers how to understand various social roles through art. One of her listeners is Sara – who, being in her final year of high school, cannot wait until she can start an adult life away from home. Her evident fascination with the young teacher leads to asymmetry in their relationship, which becomes a test for both women. Anna Sofie Hartmann’s directorial debut is an aesthetical and intellectual experience, but it’s the emotional nuance of the film which makes it stand apart.
