Musical stage

The musical stage of the festival will be set in motion by Grabek. The rampant Indian artists from The Gandu Cirrcus will perform the soundtrack from their film and charismatic Barbara Morgenstern will present her “Only my pen tolerates my choices” project. Arkadiusz Jakubik and his Dr Misio are also going to express the musical side of their personality.

GRABEK

Rondo Sztuki, 14.06 | 11 p.m.

Grabek is a solo project created by Wojtek Grabek, a multi-instrumentalist who swiftly connects heavy, almost industrial beats with the sound of looped violin and vocals. The project emerged at the end of 2008. Not much later the “mono3some” EP was released. This mini-album, funded by the artist himself has paved the way for him to performances in Poland and abroad, including widely recognised stages at Heineken Open’er Festival 2009, Free Form Festival and Transvizualia to name just a few. The music journalists often compare Grabek to Radiohead and individual projects by Thom Yorke, Amon Tobin or even Aphex Twin. The artist himself confesses the fascination of the alternative music scene of Iceland and the works of…Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki.

DR MISIO

Klub 50x50, 16.06 | 9 p.m.

A band centred around Arek Jakubik – director, actor and scriptwriter. Dr Misio plays hard rock & roll to the lyrics by Varga and Swietlicki. A solid sound, heavy riffs, intelligent lyrics and lack of musical compromise make this band a new and original proposition not only for the fans of rock but above all for the people seeking intellectual excitement and thought content in art, people open to the form and unwilling to abstain from collective fun.

Dr Misio : wokal | vocals – Arek Jakubik | gitara | guitar – Paweł Derentowicz | gitara basowa | bass guitar – Mario Matysek | klawisze | keyboards – Radek Kupisz | perkusja | drums – Frycu Młynarski

THE GANDU CIRCUS

Rondo Sztuki, 17.06 | 7 p.m.

First there was a film, then there was a band. Basing on the popularity of “Gandu”, which has moved the audiences in India, a few members of the band “Five Little Indians” have decided to create a project inspired by this motion picture which ultimately gave rise to “The Gandu Circus”. The band plays electronic music with elements of sampling and rap. During the concert we will have a chance to listen to the “Gandu” soundtrack and the latest material accompanied by visual props.

BARBARA MORGENSTERN

Rondo Sztuki, 19.06 | 7 p.m.

Known as “the Queen of avant-pop” or “the Queen of Berlin electronic scene”, Morgenstern combines gentle, catchy vocals with electronic samples and melodies related to krautrock and electro of the 80s produced on a synthesizer. Based on modern electronics, Barbara’s music is full of poetics, feminine sensitivity and nostalgia. She also draws her inspiration from the rich tradition of cabaret songs. “Only my pen tolerates my choices” is an experimental, audiovisual project created by Barbara Morgenstern with visual artist Lidia Wilkosz and playwright, director Krystiana Lada.
