The War of the Worlds: Next Century

A loose adaptation of H. G. Wells’ “The War of the Worlds” about the Martian invasion on Earth. However, Szulkin isn’t interested in cheap thrills and a hastily signed alliance with the aliens, but in a portrait of mankind in face of enslavement. From the crowd, the director picks out a seemingly independent TV presenter, Iron Idem, whose world suddenly begins to collapse. Szulkin’s adaptation of a science fiction literary classic is a moving portrait of a person enslaved by media and authoritarian governments.
