Juan and Luna are infatuated with each other. They are a couple of Colombian immigrants who live in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. Their relationship, based on an odd mixture of tenderness and volatility, is on track to its breaking point due to a chance meeting with a certain girl at a party. In his debut, Juan Sebastián Quebrada paints a portrait of a pair of outsiders in their twenties, for whom the most important things in life are good fun, wild sex and no real commitments. The stylishly black and white “Strange Days” is constructed out of explosions of physicality and uninhibited freedom. The current political climate, while present in the background by way of amongst others a Chinese immigrant, is just a pretext to tell a very intimate story of a relationship running its course. One of the film’s producers is Rodrigo Moreno, the director of “A Mysterious World” and “The Minder”.
