AIF2017 Call for Entries Finished

Every year we receive hundreds of submissions to four international competitions: The Black Horses of film, animation, video games and music videos, and 2017 was not an exception. Competition call for entries ended on May 31, and the nominated titles will be revealed on August 29, alongside the festival’s full programme.

This year, Katowice received more than 1700 animations and 100 films. More over we’ll play in around 100 games and watch 100 music videos.

“A lot to binge,” comments Bartek Sołtysik, the festival’s media spokesperson.

The Black Horse of Film will feature 6 feature films from young and debuting directors. 6 new video games – regardless of genre and platform – will compete for the Black Horse of Video Games. The Black Horse of Animation will introduce about 30 animated shorts, both debuts and school projects. The youngest competition, The Black Horse of Music Videos, will screen about 30 entries.

Since last year, awards in every competition – the title and statue of The Black Horse as well as 500 euros – are awarded by the festival audience instead of a professional jury.

A reminder: until July 31 we are accepting submissions for the Video Game Night Market.
