The video by Perttu Saksa is a dangerous experience. The beautiful image of a restless ocean does not make one ready for what’s next – the close-ups of the animal (or maybe human?) meat. When one desperately tries to recognize which part of the body it is, the director switches to something different – a woman’s face pushing against black ropes. There’s no distinct point to this series of images. It only makes the viewer increasingly uncomfortable, although it is impossible to deny the beauty of these simple, raw shots. It’s a truly uncompromising video, just like Aku Raski’s music.

Photographer and artist from Helsinki. The unsettling aesthetics of the Huoratron video is also the aesthetic of most of his work: crossing the border between life and death and interest in body which eventually becomes meat.
